Business Days Calculator

Format YYYY-MM-DD, one per line or separated by commas. No country holidays are built in.

How to use

  1. Choose Days between to count working days from one date to another, or Add business days to find a deadline.
  2. Pick your weekend. Saturday and Sunday is the default; Friday and Saturday suits much of the Middle East.
  3. Optionally list public holidays, one per line in YYYY-MM-DD format. They are skipped like weekends.

How it works

Each day in the range is checked in turn. A day counts as a business day when it is not one of your weekend days and not on your holiday list. A holiday that falls on a weekend is only removed once.

By default both the start date and the end date are included, so Monday to Friday is five business days. Untick the boxes to leave out either end.

Adding business days starts counting from the day after the start date. Adding 1 to a Friday gives the following Monday, and a negative number counts backward.

This calculator has no built-in public holidays. Holidays differ by country, region and year, and some move from year to year, so you supply the dates. If you leave the list empty, only weekends are excluded.

FAQ

Does it know my country's public holidays?

No. The tool has no holiday calendar, on purpose, because an out-of-date list would silently give wrong answers. Paste the holidays you need in YYYY-MM-DD format, one per line or separated by commas.

Does the count include the start date?

Yes, by default both ends are counted. Untick Include start date or Include end date to change that. Many contracts count from the day after the start, so check the wording of yours.

How do I calculate 30 business days from today?

Switch to Add business days, set the start date, enter 30 and add your holidays. The result shows the date and its weekday.

Can I use a Sunday-to-Thursday work week?

Yes. Choose Friday and Saturday as the weekend, which leaves Sunday to Thursday as working days. For a single day off, pick Sunday only; for a seven-day week, pick No weekend.
